Two of the most prized materials in interior design, white marble and natural mango wood , meet in the Calla Sideboard. The cool, veined surface of white marble forms the top; warm, naturally grained mango wood with CNC fluted detailing forms the body; and a handleless push-open door system keeps the entire front face clean, uninterrupted, and completely free of hardware.
The Calla is the most luxurious material combination in the Decoronto collection. And it is a piece that will look as beautiful in 20 years as it does the day it arrives.
White Marble Top — The Luxury Surface
Marble is the material that separates furniture from fine design. It has been used at the highest levels of architecture and interior design for thousands of years , not because it is fashionable, but because it is genuinely exceptional. The white marble top on the Calla brings every quality that has made marble irreplaceable:
-
Natural veining — every slab of marble has a unique pattern of veins running through it, formed over millennia under pressure. No two Calla marble tops look exactly the same
-
Cool, smooth surface — marble is naturally cool to the touch and creates a surface that is practical for displaying objects, glassware, and decorative items
-
Timeless white — white marble works with every colour scheme, every interior style, and every decade of design
-
Weight and substance — a marble top gives the Calla a physical presence and gravitas that wood or veneer cannot replicate
The marble top is the piece's hero , and the mango wood base is built to serve it.
CNC Fluted Mango Wood Doors — Precision Meets Natural Beauty
The Calla's doors feature CNC fluted mango wood , fluting cut with Computer Numerical Control precision rather than hand-applied. This matters because:
-
Perfect consistency — every flute is identical in depth, width, and spacing across the full width of every door
-
Crisp definition — CNC cutting produces sharper, cleaner edges than hand-applied fluting, giving the pattern a more architectural quality
-
Natural grain through the flutes — the precision cutting reveals the mango wood's natural grain within each flute channel, creating a pattern that is both geometric and organic
The fluted pattern is also the Calla's connection to its name. The calla lily — white, architectural, fluted , is the flower that best represents what this piece does: clean geometry wrapped in natural material.
Handleless Push-Open Doors — The Clean Face
No handles interrupt the Calla's CNC fluted front. Its push-to-open doors function the same way as the Aura and Hex , a single touch opens each door, a single touch closes it. The result is an uninterrupted surface of natural fluted mango wood running the full 74-inch width.
When closed, the Calla reads as a continuous, textured wall of natural wood. When open, it reveals the interior storage. The hardware-free face is not a compromise, it is a design decision.
Natural Finish — Every Piece Unique
The Calla's natural finish on the mango wood base does what the best finishes do: it seals and protects without hiding. Every piece of mango wood used in the Calla has its own grain pattern, its own colour variation, its own natural character , and the natural finish ensures all of it remains visible.
Combined with the marble top , which is also unique to each piece , the Calla is a sideboard where both primary materials are one-of-a-kind. The exact Calla that arrives at your door will not exist anywhere else in the world.
Assembly Note — Two Boxes
⚠️ Assembly Required: The Calla Sideboard arrives in two boxes. Box 1 (122 lbs) contains the marble top; Box 2 (141.6 lbs) contains the mango wood body. Assembly involves placing and securing the marble top onto the body. Hardware and instructions are included. We recommend two people for assembly due to the weight of the marble top. Most customers complete assembly in under 30 minutes.
Note — Back Panel
ℹ️ Back Panel: The Calla's back panel is unfinished plywood — this sideboard is designed to be placed against a wall. Unlike the Aura, Sol, Orb, and Hex, the Calla does not have a finished back.
